This 7-day journey delivers a complete introduction to Uganda’s most iconic landscapes and wildlife experiences. You track rhinos on foot at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, explore the vast savannah of Murchison Falls National Park, walk through Budongo Forest for chimpanzee trekking, and finish with a life-changing gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls National Park

You depart early from Kampala or Entebbe and drive north towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can track rhinos in the wild. Accompanied by rangers, you walk through the bush and approach these powerful animals at a safe distance.

After the experience, you continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you visit the Top of the Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge and crashes down with immense force.

You proceed to your lodge for check-in and relaxation.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari

You begin with an early morning game drive across the northern plains. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and several antelope species. The open savannah allows for excellent wildlife viewing.

In the afternoon, you take a boat safari on the Nile towards the base of the falls. Along the riverbanks, you encounter hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife.

You return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Budongo Forest

After breakfast, you head to Budongo Forest Reserve for a chimpanzee trekking experience. Guided by experts, you walk through dense forest in search of a habituated chimpanzee group. The forest is rich in biodiversity, offering sightings of birds and other primates.

After the trek, you return to the lodge for relaxation or enjoy a short evening drive if time allows.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You depart after breakfast and begin your journey south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive reveals Uganda’s changing landscapes, from savannah plains to crater regions and rolling hills.

You arrive in the evening and check in at your lodge.

Day 5: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

You start the day with a game drive in the Kasenyi plains, known for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and Uganda kobs. The morning hours offer the best chances for wildlife sightings.

In the afternoon, you enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, where large concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and bird species gather along the shores.

You return to the lodge for your final evening in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi and Gorilla Trekking

You leave early and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in time for your gorilla trekking experience or preparing for it depending on the sector and timing.

Guided by rangers, you trek through dense forest to locate a habituated gorilla family. The moment you encounter them is unforgettable, offering a rare chance to observe their behavior at close range.

You return to your lodge for relaxation after the trek.
