Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 20 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern all bookings made with Murchison Falls Park Safari (“Murchison Falls Park Safari”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) for safaris, tours, and related travel services in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania. By submitting a booking request or paying a deposit, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Bookings and Confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once we have received your signed itinerary/quotation acceptance and the required deposit. Until then, quoted prices, accommodation, and activity availability are not guaranteed and may change without notice.
2. Deposits and Payment
A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the amount depending on your itinerary and the deposit requirements of the lodges, permits, and activities involved. The remaining balance is due before your safari begins, as specified in your individual quotation. Accepted payment methods will be confirmed with you at the time of booking.
3. Gorilla and Chimpanzee Trekking Permits
Permits for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are issued by the relevant national wildlife authority and are non-refundable and non-transferable once purchased, regardless of the reason for cancellation, including illness, weather, or force majeure. Permit prices are set by the issuing authority and are subject to change without notice until the permit is paid for in full.
4. Cancellations by the Client
Cancellation requests must be made in writing. Deposits are non-refundable. Depending on how close to your travel date you cancel, additional charges may apply to cover non-refundable commitments already made on your behalf to lodges, permit authorities, and other suppliers. We will always confirm the specific cancellation terms applicable to your itinerary at the time of booking.
5. Changes to Your Itinerary
We will do our best to accommodate changes you request after booking, subject to availability and any additional costs charged by our suppliers. We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to accommodation, routing, or activities where circumstances beyond our control require it, while keeping the overall standard of your trip consistent with what was booked.
6. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations where this is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, civil unrest, government action, park closures, pandemics, or transport disruptions. Costs arising from such events, including non-refundable permits and supplier charges, remain the responsibility of the client unless recoverable through travel insurance.
7. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance, including cover for trip cancellation, medical treatment, and emergency evacuation, is required for all clients traveling with us. It is your responsibility to arrange adequate cover before departure.
8. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring you hold a valid passport, any required visas, and any health documentation (such as yellow fever vaccination certificates) needed for entry into your destination countries. We are happy to advise, but we are not responsible for denied entry resulting from missing or invalid documentation.
9. Health, Safety, and Assumption of Risk
Safari activities, including game drives, boat cruises, and forest trekking, take place in natural environments involving wildlife and carry inherent risks. By participating, you accept these risks and agree to follow the safety instructions of your guide at all times. Clients with medical conditions that may affect their ability to safely participate in any activity should inform us in advance.
10. Limitation of Liability
Murchison Falls Park Safari arranges services provided by third parties, including accommodation, transport, and permit-issuing authorities. While we select our partners carefully, we are not liable for their acts, omissions, injury, loss, or damage arising from services outside our direct control, except where required by applicable law.
11. Complaints
If any aspect of your trip does not meet expectations, please raise it with your guide or with us as soon as possible so we can address it promptly. Complaints after your trip should be submitted in writing within 30 days of your return.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Uganda, and any disputes arising from them will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
