Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Top of the Falls

You depart early from Kampala or Entebbe and drive north towards Murchison Falls National Park. The journey passes through rural landscapes with an optional stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking.

Upon arrival, you visit the Top of the Falls, where the Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge and plunges down with powerful intensity. The viewpoint offers one of Uganda’s most dramatic natural scenes.

You proceed to your lodge for check-in, relaxation, and dinner.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari

You start early with a morning game drive across the northern plains of the park. Expect sightings of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and various antelope species. The open savannah creates excellent opportunities for photography.

After lunch at the lodge, you head out for a boat safari on the Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. The riverbanks are filled with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and birdlife, offering one of the richest wildlife experiences in Uganda.

You return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, you begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda. This is a long but scenic drive that takes you through changing landscapes, from savannah plains to rolling hills and terraced highlands.

You arrive in the evening and proceed to your lodge near the forest, where you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

You wake early and head to the park headquarters for a briefing before your gorilla trekking experience. Guided by experienced rangers, you hike through dense forest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

The trek can take a few hours depending on the location of the gorillas, but the moment you encounter them is unforgettable. You spend one hour observing their behavior, watching interactions within the family, and capturing photos.

After the trek, you return to the lodge for relaxation and reflection on this unique wildlife encounter.

Day 5: Relaxation or Optional Activities

Day 6: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
